Add Notes View to Sidebar

Since we introduced My Widgets in 8.0.1, I've seen (and authored) a lot of blog entries about adding Google Gadgets to the Notes 8 Sidebar, and configuring Live Text to recognize patterns such as addresses, stocks, shipping numbers.  However, there is another very useful feature available in My Widgets, which allows you to add any Notes view to the Notes 8 Sidebar.

For example,  if I'd like to have easy access to the Published Comments view of this blog, I open the view and simply click the "Add to Sidebar" toolbar icon.

The view is now available in the Sidebar.

From the panel's Options menu, you can choose to close the panel, open it in its own window (which is cool), or close it.

Notes: It also adds the Widget to your My Widgets panel.

In a future tip, I'll show more advanced way to which allows you to add the view without the left sidebar navigator.  (Hopefully it will just be a preference choice in a future version)
