Google search directly from Notes

In the blog entry "Welcome Page" I introduced you to the four basic types of Lotus Notes Welcome pages.  Today I'd like to begin a tour of the features available in the "Basics - With Calendar" style.

There are five main areas (labelled below) which I will cover over the course of the next few blog entries.

Feature #1 is the ability to perform a "Google" right from within Notes.  First set the Search drop down list to Google, and then in the "for" box enter your search term, and finally click Search.

Lotus Notes will launch a Google search for you displaying the results in the browser you have configured in your current location document.

So no more need to start your browser and type in www.google.com.  Instead just launch the search from Notes!   Very cool.

Update: Above when I mentioned "displaying the search results..." this is configured on the "Internet Browser" tab of your current location document.   You can edit this by clicking on the Location display that is found near the bottom right corner of your Notes screen, or via the File menu, Mobile - Edit Current Location.
