Lotus Notes 8 Sidebar - Part 3

This is part 3 in my series on how to use the Lotus Notes 8 sidebar.   { part 1 - part 2 }.

Today I will show you how to take an application that is running in the sidebar, and open it in its own window.

On the right hand side of the title bar of the application, click on the icon for the options menu, and then select "Open in New Window".

This will cause the applications (in this example, Sametime Contacts) to open in a seperate window, rather than being docked in the sidebar.    This style can provide the application more screen space, and it also makes it appear as a seperate program at the bottom of the screen on the Window's start bar.

To put the application back into the sidebar, simply click the close icon on the right hand side of the title bar, and it will return to the list.
