Basics Welcome Page - Lesson Two

In my last tip I showed you how you can easily start a Google search from your Lotus Notes Welcome Page.  (#1 in the picture below).  In this tip I will explain how you can open your Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc.   (#2 in the picture below)

If you hover your mouse over the icons, you will see they change colour.   Clicking on one of the icons opens that feature of Lotus Notes.

If you want to create a new document, without having to first open the database, you can simply click on the "New..." button below each icon.  If you do not see "New...", you need to turn this feature on.  Simply click on the "Welcome Page options" arrow at the top of your Welcome Page, and select "Show 'New Items' buttons".
